Although still totally part time, my 2016 photography definitely kind of grew to a new stage this past year. Not only was I able to build up the business a bit, but I really ticked off some major long-time photography goals throughout the year.
More Moab Time
Back in Moab in March, I didn’t start my morning off with the intention of shooting Mesa Arch again, but stoked that my day went that way…
Colorado National Monument
I had driven the 17-mile Rim Road a few times, which was always nice, but after years and years of telling myself I’d get back and spend time there, it still hadn’t happened… I finally changed that in the spring.
Costa Rica, Round 2
I went back to the “same spot” again, but this time, it was due to four words –Four Seasons Private Beaches.
Rifle Falls State Park
I had been driving past the Rifle Falls State Park signs along I-70 for years, but never ventured off the highway to see them. Totally worth it, at least once.
Knowles Canyon
It was the same thing with Knowles Canyon and Rabbit Valley along the Utah border – I had been driving past it for years without exploring so I finally took a night to camp at the Knowles Canyon Overlook.
Holland
After 19 years, I got back to the motherland. (More for visiting family and a wedding, not so much for photography though.)
Maroon Bells
It just important to me and I made a couple trips this fall – You can read why here.
Chased the Foliage through the San Juan Mountains
I needed another fix of the most beautiful range in Colorado with the changing fall colors.
Antelope Canyon
Antelope Canyon is arguably one of the most beautiful and bewildering places on earth and it seemed like I saw it everywhere. I had to plan a trip there…
Horseshoe Bend
The view was nothing short of spectacular.
Hawaii
I’ve just wanted to go for a looooooong time. And it didn’t disappoint.
